Genmaicha Yama
A comforting and unexpected pairing, this traditional Japanese tea blends green tea with roasted brown rice, creating a warm, nutty flavor with gentle toasty notes.
Legend tells of a 15th-century samurai whose servant, Genmai, accidentally dropped rice into his tea. Though the mistake was met with harsh consequences, the samurai was surprised to discover how delicious the combination tasted. The tea was later named “Genmaicha” in his memory.
Versatile and easy to enjoy, this tea can be served hot or iced, and is especially lovely alongside a meal.
